Getting the grip right
Any smooth, glossy floor can get slippery when it's wet, oily or dusty. Anti-slip flooring adds texture to the coating, usually a fine aggregate broadcast into or mixed through the finish, so there's something for shoes and bare feet to grip.
The trick is getting the level right. More texture means more grip, but a floor that's harder to mop. Too little and it doesn't do its job. A bathroom, a pool surround, a loading ramp and a commercial kitchen all need something different.
Grip can be built into a new flake, plain, metallic or polyaspartic floor, or added as part of recoating a sound existing one.

Will anti-slip make the floor hard to clean?
A little harder than a smooth gloss, which is why the level of texture matters. We'll balance grip against cleaning for how the floor is used. A bathroom doesn't need the same texture as a loading ramp.
Can you make an existing epoxy floor less slippery?
Often, yes. A sound existing coating can usually be prepared and recoated with a textured finish. A peeling or damaged coating needs to be repaired or removed first.
Does my floor need a specific slip rating?
Some commercial sites and specifications call for a particular slip-resistance rating. If yours does, tell us at the quote so the system is chosen with that in mind.
Is anti-slip worth it around a pool?
It's well worth considering. Wet feet, sunscreen and water on a smooth coating are a slip risk, so pool surrounds are one of the most common places to add grip.
